Write for Us

Future of Dallas publishes contributions from local writers, subject-matter experts, and engaged residents. If you know Dallas and can write clearly about its civic life, we want to hear from you.

What we are looking for

• Well-reported, useful pieces on Dallas education, parks and public space, nonprofits, development, or neighborhoods.
• Practical guides, explainers, and thoughtful commentary grounded in real knowledge of the city.
• Original work that has not been published elsewhere.

Editorial standards

• Aim for 1,000 to 1,800 words of substantive, accurate content.
• Cite reputable sources where relevant. We fact-check.
• No thin or purely promotional content. Contributions are editorial, not advertising.
• We reserve the right to edit for clarity, accuracy, and style.

How to pitch

Email editor@futureofdallas.org with a short pitch of two or three sentences, the angle, and a link to a writing sample. If you have a full draft, attach it. We respond to pitches we can use within about a week.
